Senior IT Specialist
We are looking for a skilled IT Specialist to join our team and play a key role in delivering efficient, reliable IT support and system administration. This role requires someone with strong support desk expertise, system administration skills, and a sharp ability to communicate with both internal users and our external IT Managed Services Provider (MSP). The ideal candidate will take initiative in process documentation, manage technology change, and support the ongoing implementation and optimization of company systems, particularly Microsoft Teams and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical issues and service desk support requests.
- Collaborate closely with our external MSP to ensure timely resolution of incidents and implementation of IT improvements.
- Help administer and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.
- Help manage system implementations, upgrades, and migrations with a focus on user experience and minimal disruption.
- Create, document, and roll out IT processes and SOPs for both internal teams and MSP use.
- Support IT change management initiatives and new system onboarding across the organization.
- Monitor systems performance and proactively identify opportunities for increased efficiency and security.
- Provide high-level user support and training for key business systems.
- Maintain asset tracking and software licensing records in collaboration with MSP.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of professional experience in an IT Support, Systems Administrator, or Senior Help Desk role.
- Expertise with Microsoft 365 Administration, especially Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange.
- Familiarity with both Microsoft and Apple operating systems, including device setup, troubleshooting, and user support.
- Experience working with new or emerging cloud-based systems, including evaluating, implementing, and supporting SaaS tools.
- Proficiency with change management best practices and new system implementation.
- Strong skills in technical writing and documentation for internal and end-user processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience supporting a hybrid or fully remote workforce.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Finance, and other departments across the agency to support business-aligned IT initiatives.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools or frameworks, such as endpoint detection and response, multi-factor authentication, and email filtering solutions.
- Confidence in presenting new processes and tools to internal teams through clear documentation or live training sessions.
