Summary:
Lamark Media is seeking a driven and diligent Staff Accountant to join our Finance team who is focused on supporting the needs of an expanding company and an acquisition-based growth strategy. The Staff Accountant will identify, implement, and manage financial systems, processes, and technology across the organization. This key position involves helping to manage timely and relevant data required to make sound financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting:
- Support the monthly close process
- Prepare and record journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Track and review for accuracy expense/accrual analysis, deferred revenue, unrecorded revenue, and PP&E
Accounts Receivable:
- Create and distribute monthly client billing
- Handle collections on past-due balances
- Serve as the primary contact for AR inquiries
- Process cash applications
- Manage daily client communication inbox
Accounts Payable:
- Process accounts payable invoices
- Manage accounts payable checklist
- Manage expense reporting across the organization
- Facilitate new vendor setups
Budgeting:
- Assist the Finance team in developing and tracking forward-looking projections and forecasts
Audit/Tax:
- Support annual external audit requirements
- File monthly or quarterly sales tax reports to taxing authorities, in which, nexus has been established
Internal Controls:
- Maintain internal control integrity, documentation, and compliance
- Develop new controls to resolve identified weaknesses
Technology:
- Facilitate post-merger integrations of recent acquisitions
- Provide system support for NetSuite, Bill.com, and YayPay
Team Collaboration:
- Communicate financial information effectively
- Build relationships across multiple teams to foster collaboration
Qualifications:
Education- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting or related field
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in private or public accounting
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles by US GAAP and taxation
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to manipulate large datasets and ensure data integrity
- Ability to apply critical thinking and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, and a growth mindset
